The Clark Center Association's mission is to support and promote the performing and cultural arts for the enjoyment, entertainment and education of our community.

 

Sandy Lubin
President
 

 

A finance professional since 1965, Sandy Lubin began his banking career with Union Bank in Los Angeles.  He has been President/CEO of both State and Nationally chartered independent Banks.  He currently owns the Credit Bureau of San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties that employs 30 people in the South County. Sandy has been a resident of Arroyo Grande for 20 years and has been active in the community by serving on the Arroyo Grande Park & Rec. Commission, Chairman of the Arroyo Grande Planning Commission and an Arroyo Grande City Councilman. He has been President of the Arroyo Grande Chamber of Commerce, The Pismo Beach/5 Cities Rotary Club, The Economic Vitality Commission for the county of San Luis Obispo  and is currently President of the Clark Center Performing Arts Association. He was The Arroyo Grande Citizen of the Year for 2007.  He holds a Bachelors Degree from Pepperdine University and has done graduate work in Banking and Organizational Development.
Sandy has been married to his wife Cindi for 42 years, has two married children and five grandchildren.
 
Stephen Hughes
Vice-President
 
 
Stephen Hughes, a South County resident for over two decades, is an information technology consultant for Cal Poly State University and president of ShowTel Strategic Technologies. After seven years as owner/manager of Intermountain Entertainment, a concert presenter and artist management firm, he became president of Midland Broadcasting Company, a group of Rocky Mountain radio stations.
In addition to the Clark Center Association Board, Hughes has served on the boards of the Grover Beach Chamber of Commerce, and the American Heart Association; the Children's Services Network and 9 years as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA). He has been recognized by the Community Foundation as volunteer of the year.
Stephen is married to Susan Hughes, both his daughter, Amy and son, Paul graduated from Arroyo Grande High School. You'll find him playing bluegrass regularly at the SLO Down Pub jam sessions in Arroyo Grande.
 

 
Iris Swisher
Treasurer

Iris Swisher has been in the banking industry for 38 years.  She is currently serving as Vice President and Manager of the Arroyo Grande office of Rabobank, N.A.   Iris is the President of the Cuesta College Foundation as well as the serves as Treasurer for the Clark Center Association.  She is the Immediate Past Chairman of the Board for the Arroyo Grande Chamber of Commerce and on the Steering Committee for the East Grand Ave Merchants Association. 
Iris just completed a 6-year commitment as Board of Director/Treasurer of Campfire USA Central Coast Council and is Past President of the California Women for Agriculture.  She serves as a volunteer for Hospice Partners of the Central Coast, Family Care Network, Five Cities Meals on Wheels, American Cancer Society & March of Dimes. Iris earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Marymount College in Salina, Kansas.  Her husband, Richard, is recently retired from the building industry.    They live in Pismo Beach, with their cat, Kevin. 
 
Randy Voss

Randy Voss became involved with the efforts of building the Clark Center joining the board of the South County Performing Arts Guild in 1993. He has been active with the Association board for 4 years and helps with fundraising and membership activities.  Randy is from San Luis Obispo and has been a practicing dentist for 23 years in Arroyo Grande and currently serves on the Central Coast Dental Society board.
He spent many years with the Five Cities Youth Basketball board and has coached and supported teams involving his son Nikolas and daughter Amanda.
Randy and his wife Jamie met in the Cal Poly Band and they have been supportive of the arts ever since.  Jamie is a CPA at Longcrier and Associates and is an avid quilter. Together they enjoy traveling, the outdoors and following their kid’s college adventures!
 

 
Ashlea Boyer

Ashlea is a native of Pismo Beach, having moved here from South Lake Tahoe with her parents when she was just four years old. She is an Alumni of Arroyo Grande High School, after which she attended the University of California at Santa Barbara. She graduated with a degree in English Literature in 1995.

After college, Ashlea developed a successful career in publishing and marketing in Southern California, working for two of the three largest West Coast publishing houses. Additionally, she spent one year launching a dot.com and one year working as the Web Content Editor for the Portland Business Journal in Portland, Oregon.

Returning 7 years ago to the Central Coast, Ashlea worked as a producer for KSBY News, and as a marketing and publishing consultant before deciding to join the family business and team up with her mother, Kathi Foster in real estate. She has grown up with her mother doing business at the dining room table – and therefore has been immersed in the world of real estate for the past 18 years. Ashlea kicked off her real estate career two years ago, and has already developed a strong client following in the area based on her dedication to outstanding customer service.

Nan Fowler

Nan Fowler, owner of Nan’s Pre-Owned Books is a long time resident of the South County.  After years in the medical field, she opened her store 22 years ago.  Since that time she has been active in local politics, Chambers of Commerce and the Grover Beach Community Library.  In 2001, she was honored by the State of California Chamber of Commerce for her business activities.  In 2002 she was named one of Cuesta College’s Women of Distinction and in 2007 was named the Arroyo Grande Citizen of the years.  She is the proud mother and grandmother of Kristi, Kassi and Jake Turner.
Carole Lee Miller

 

 
Barney Reitner
 
Barney Reitner was born in Brooklyn, New York and grew up in Los Angeles, California.  He received his B.A. in Political Science from UCLA in 1967 and his J.D. from UCLA School of Law in 1970.  After practicing business law in Los Angeles with a large firm for almost 25 years, he and his wife Linda moved to South County in 1994.   He now is “semi-retired” and is a part time “of counsel” to the San Luis Obispo law firm he founded when he moved here.  He is a former board member of the Festival Mozaic San Luis Obispo among other civic activities.   In addition to the Clark Center Association Board of Directors, he currently serves on the Union of Reform Judaism Pacific Southwest Council Executive Committee and as a board member of the newly established Anti Defamation League SLO Advisory Board.  He and his wife Linda live in Shell Beach.  They have two married daughters, Missy and Erin, two sons in law, Mark and Clint and three granddaughters, Gia, Gabby and Leah.

Jack Smith

                                

 
Jack was born in Galveston, Texas on March 9, 1947.  He moved to San Luis Obispo to attend California Polytechnic State University in 1967.  He retired as a 1st Lieutenant after serving in Viet Nam and receiving 2 Bronze Stars and 2 Army Commendation Medals.   In 1977 he graduated with a degree in Business Administration.
During the 1970’s he worked for Guardian Life Insurance Co.  In 1980, he became a General Agent for Central Life Assurance and he began Central Financial Services which grew to 48 agents and 6 offices throughout California.  For twenty years the main office was in Arroyo Grande serving the life, health, property/casualty, investment, and planning needs of its clients.Jack received his Masters of Science in Financial Services, became a Chartered Financial Consultant and a Chartered Life Underwriter.  He has been a Qualifying and Life Member of the Million Dollar Round Table, qualifying Top of the Table 3 years and Court of the Table for 2 years. He has been a member of the Arroyo Grande Rotary Club for 29 years, a past-president and a board member for 13 years.  He is a charter member of the 5 Cities Men’s Club, Lucia Mar Unified School District’s Facilities Committee and member of the South County Education Foundation.  As a charter member of the Board of the Boys & Girls Club of South San Luis Obispo County, he served as President for 3 terms, is a major sponsor, helped to close the Real Estate purchase of the club site & building, and oversaw growth in the club to over 2000 members. 
Jack and his wife, Jayne, have been married 38 years.  They have 3 daughters, 4 granddaughters and 4 grandsons.
