GLOBAL FEST – The New Golden Age of Latin Music

March 11, 2018 @ 8:00 pm

Presented by The Clark Center Association

Updated Description: Mariachi Flor De Toloache will be replacing Orkestra Mendoza.

The New Golden Age of Latin Music is being created right here in the United States. The Mexican-American communities of Arizona and California have emerged as hotbeds of musical creativity, and merging styles that reflect the changing cultural identities between Mexico and the United States.

The Latin Grammy Nominees Mariachi Flor de Toloache make New York City history as its’ First and Only All-Women Mariachi Group. While working to preserve centuries old traditions of Mariachi, their melange of the traditional and the modern pushes the boundaries of the genre and brings Mariachi music to new audiences.

Beer & Wine Available for Purchase

Alternative Chicano band Las Cafeteras recreate traditional Afro-Caribbean Son Jarocho music in a wildly vibrant style. Their rousing socially conscious messages tell stories of looking for love and fighting for justice in the concrete jungle of East LA.
