Paquita is one of the oldest works in the classical ballet canon, turning 180 years old this year. Visit Napoleonic Spain, where headstrong gypsy dancer Paquita rescues a handsome officer from certain death, learns the truth about her mysterious past, and falls in love along the way. Act II’s wedding is a glittering time capsule of the virtuosity and splendor of classical ballet, preserving the last surviving dances from ballets lost to memory before the invention of film.
