Hank Williams' 100th Birthday Celebration
Jason Petty returns to the Clark Center to celebrate Hank Williams 100th birthday with his amazing, critically acclaimed tribute, Hank and My Honky Tonk Heroes.
It's a nostalgic look at the country music giant and his influence on country music in which Jason recreates such Williams' hits as "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry," "Your Cheatin' Heart," "Hey Good Lookin' ," "Kaw-Liga," "Cold Cold Heart," "Lovesick Blues" and many more. But Jason's Obie award-winning performance is more than just a Hank Williams tribute, as he also pays tribute to stars that influenced Hank and those stars that Hank influenced, including Jimmie Rodgers, Roy Acuff, Ernest Tubb, The Carter Family, George Jones, Webb Pierce and more. Backed by an authentic three-piece band, Hank and My Honky Tonk Heroes will make you smile, make you cry, and make you clap your hands and stomp your feet with excitement. This show is a MUST-SEE for all country music fans!
"Jason Petty, who plays Williams, doesn't just capture the phrasing and cadences of Williams' singing. He varies his delivery with the command of a performer who is fully inhabiting his character, not merely rendering him. I was genuinely surprised, even stunned, by Petty's forceful, clear-eyed and moving depiction of Williams." - Anthony Decurtis, Rolling Stone
"At times it seems as if Petty is not just offering an impersonation of Williams, but channeling his ghost. - New York Post
