The San Francisco Stand-Up Comedy Competition brings together the finest comedic talent from across the country. Each year, hundreds apply for consideration, and 32 are chosen to move forward. Spanning several weeks, the competition consists of multiple rounds, during which participants perform their funniest material in front of live audiences and a panel of judges. Five finalists, having risen to the top of this year's field during four weeks of elimination shows throughout Northern California, will each perform at the Clark Center for 15 minutes, hoping to hear their name announced the next night as the winner of the lion's share of over $20,000 in prize money. The competition, one of the most prestigious comedy events in North America, has launched the careers of people like Patton Oswalt, Dana Carvey, Louis C.K., Robin Williams and Ellen DeGeneres.

Dan Aguinaga is a Brazilian-American comedian from New York City. He lives in San Francisco with his patient wife and two precocious daughters, whom he often talks about on stage with tight writing and a silly yet sincere stage presence. He’s opened for Scott Capurro and performs at all venues in the Bay Area.

Dvontre Coleman is a black comedian based in San Francisco. Growing up, Dvontre found that the best way to make new friends was to make others laugh, now he’s trying to make friends around the country.  He has performed at festivals all over the country (San Francisco Sketch Fest, Big Pine Comedy Festival, 10,000 Laughs Comedy Festival). Dvontre has found a way to spread laughs in the least amount of steps possible.

Shaheen Khal, a Sacramento native from a mixed ethnic background, discovered his passion for performance at a young age. He immersed himself in improv and theater as creative outlets. Despite earning a black belt in karate as a youth and nurturing a background in acting, Shaheen’s dream of becoming a Power Ranger did not pan out. He pivoted to stand-up comedy and has been performing across California ever since.  Shaheen’s life experiences and sharp wit infuse his comedy with a unique perspective, captivating audiences with every punchline.

Marcus Howard, born and raised in Oakland, is a comedian who’s been making audiences laugh for years. With a sharp wit and a unique perspective on life, Marcus has become a regular on the Bay Area comedy scene.  He performs regularly with Don’t Tell Comedy and the Alameda Comedy Club, and his comedy touches on everything from kids to race to relationships. Marcus is known for his ability to turn everyday situations into hilarious stories, and he’s not afraid to tackle tough topics with humor and heart. Whether he’s riffing on the absurdities of being a liberal or sharing his thoughts on the state of the world, Marcus is always entertaining, insightful, and funny.

Frankie Marcos is from the San Jose. Living in the Bay area and Los Angeles, he’s now an international headliner. Working at comedy clubs across the US, Canada, Australia, the UK, and Asia. Frankie is a regular on Don’t Tell Comedy as well as Chocolate Sundaes at the Laugh Factory in Hollywood.  Frankie has worked with Taylor Tomlinson, Michael Che, Nicole Byer, and more. ABOUT THE HOST...

Jackie Flynn, a past champion of the competition, currently starring on the TV series "Loudermilk," will host the evening. Before bringing on the contestants, Jackie will rapid fire his unique Boston-style material to warm up the crowd. At evening's end, he'll keep the laughter going while the judges' scores are being calculated backstage. In the 1990s, Jackie emerged as one of the funniest and most talked about comedians to come out of Boston, and the Farrelly brothers cast him in back-to-back roles in “King Pin,” “There’s Something About Mary,” “Me, Myself And Irene,” “Shallow Hal” and “Stuck On You.” In television, he has appeared in several episodes of the hit series “The King of Queens,” and has had guest appearances on HBO’s “Veep” and the Disney Channel’s “Bizaardvark.” He is also recognized from his role as one of the "Men Of The Square Table" in the hugely popular Miller Lite "Man Law" commercials. Jackie is currently seen in the series regular role of “Tony” in “Loudermilk” (DirectTV Audience Channel).
