Clark Center Presents
Mark Hummel's Blues Harmonica Blowout
SLO Blues Society
Since 1991, blues harmonica master Mark Hummel has assembled the finest blues musicians and taken them on the road. Headlining this year's lineup is Lee Oskar - the original harmonica player from the band WAR and founder/owner of the Lee Oskar Harmonica Company. Guitarist Lurrie Bell is the son of Chicago blues harmonica legend Carey Bell and a three time Grammy Nominee and Blues Music Awards (BMA) winner, as well as being in the Blues Hall of Fame in Memphis. Jason Ricci is the two-time BMA winner for best harmonica and a worldwide influence to other harp blowers as his virtuoso chops are mind bending thanks to a technique called over blowing. Chris Cain is an Alligator recording artist and multi-instrumentalist (guitar, keys, sax) and vocalist, and a seven-time Blues Music Awards nominee.
Also joining Hummel for this tour are Virginian blues harp master and vocalist Andrew Alli, Bob Welsh (Fabulous Thunderbirds), bassist Randy Bermudes and drummer June Core (Charlie Musselwhite rhythm section).
