Everybody Can Dance & Santa Maria Civic Ballet Present
Snow White & La Bayadere
or, The Temple Dancer
Saturday, June 7 - 7:00 PM
A mixed bill featuring a timeless fairytale classic and Russian ballet’s most dramatic romance.
Snow White:
Since its premiere in Santa Maria in 2004, Diane Rose Zink’s Snow White has become a Central Coast favorite. Choreographed especially for students to Ludwig Van Beethoven’s glorious Pastoral Symphony, tomorrow’s stars are featured in leading roles as Snow White and her animal friends prove that kindness is what truly makes one fairest in the land.
La Bayadere, or The Temple Dancer:
Set in a mythical India of the past, The Temple Dancer is the story of Nikiya and the warrior Solor, and the power of love. Though powerful enemies, political intrigue, and murder attempts threaten to tear them apart, the gods themselves intervene to ensure they remain together always, even if only in death.
With plot twists worthy of a telanovela, La Bayadere is a delight for the senses, featuring colorful costumes, glorious music, and some of the finest virtuoso dances in the classical ballet repertoire
