Gary Gulman has built a distinguished career over 25 years in comedy, recognized as both a top performer and a gifted writer. Originating from Boston, Gulman’s diverse background includes being a college football scholarship athlete, an accountant, and a high school teacher. His numerous television appearances span roles as a comedian and actor. Gulman has produced four exceptional TV specials, with his latest, HBO’s The Great Depresh, earning universal acclaim for its humorous yet poignant exploration of mental illness. In 2019, he was featured in the blockbuster film Joker and he currently co-stars in Hulu’s hit comedy series, Life & Beth, alongside Amy Schumer.
In September 2023, Gulman released his memoir, Misfit: Growing Up Awkward in the ‘80s, praised by Amy Schumer and MacArthur Fellow Adrian Nicole LeBlanc for its humor and heartfelt narrative.
Today, Gulman is a leading touring comic, selling out venues like Carnegie Hall in New York City. His Misfit: Stand Up Tour showcases new material inspired by his memoir. Gary resides in Harlem with his wife.
