Friday, April 17 - 7:00 PM
St. Joseph High School Community Theatre is thrilled to present The Sound of Music at The Clark Center! Known for their show-stopping musical productions, SJHS Community Theatre is sure to bring you another show full of heart and life. This wildly talented cast features students from 4th-12th grade from SJHS and throughout the community. You do not want to miss their performance of this iconic musical!
The Sound of Music is based off of the true story of Maria von Trapp, former postulant at the Nonnberg Abbey. During her postulancy, she is given the task to become the new governess to the seven von Trapp children: Liesl, Friedrich, Louisa, Kurt, Brigitta, Marta, and little Gretl. Although their father, Captain Georg von Trapp, is a stoic man who does not allow music in his home, Maria brings a new liveliness and joy into the von Trapp family's life, a joy that had not been there for many years. Amidst their rediscovery of music and familial love, the von Trapps face real-world heartache as Nazism begins to take hold of Austria, their beloved home country.
This show, in accordance with the script, will feature Nazi symbols, language, and gestures. Viewer and parental discretion is advised.
