The Clark Center Theater held it’s annual Season Announcement party for it’s members, donors, and sponsors on Tuesday, July 20th. The event kicked off with a ribbon cutting ceremony (courtesy of South County Chambers of Commerce) to celebrate our return to the theater after nearly eighteen months of being closed due to the pandemic. “We are offering an exciting variety of shows this season and are thrilled to welcome audiences back into our theater,” said Executive Director Connie O’Henley.
The event’s attendees enjoyed a reception with delicious appetizers and charcuterie (catered by David & Michelle Feldman) where they were able to mingle while listening to elegant live violin played by past Clark Center scholarship recipient Amy Sze. Guests were then ushered into the theater where they were further entertained by musical theater Clark Center scholarship students Eliana Nunley and Dorian Green. Several other scholarship students spoke briefly about the impact the scholarships have had on them and their ability to further their education and their messages were very powerful.
The program ended with a superb video highlighting the upcoming “Clark Center Presents” series, of which details for all shows can be found on this website. Shows include favorites such as The Peking Acrobats, Perondi’s Stunt Dog Experience, original musical acts including Katie Boeck (another former Clark Center scholarship recipient) whose concert is a tribute to Joni Mitchell’s album “Blue” on it’s 50th anniversary, and incredible bands including The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra.
The Season lineup has something for everyone!
