We have a very exciting November planned with a variety of shows that should provide a bit of something for everyone!
We kick off the month with the James Way Band’s First Friday concert on November 5th. For those over age 55 or so, the James Way Band leads you on a cruise down Memory Lane that includes Classic Country music, the great old Gospel Hymns and favorites, and some Classic Rock as well. You’ll enjoy a monthly concert of nostalgic Inspiring Entertainment. For those who are younger than 55, we invite you to check it out for yourself. We think you might just LOVE it too! This is a free event and of course, your donations are gratefully accepted. The James Way Band makes it a priority to give back to our community as they “tithe” 10% of donations that they receive to various local charities.
On November 11th we are excited to host singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Sierra Hull with Dead Horses as the opening act, brought to you by Festival Mozaic. Encompassing everything from bluegrass to folk-pop to ethereal alt-rock, her latest album, 25 Trips, remains rooted in the sophisticated musicianship that Hull has cultivated almost her entire life. Having made her Grand Ole Opry debut at the age of 10, the Tennessee-bred virtuoso mandolinist played Carnegie Hall at age 12, then landed a deal with Rounder Records just a year later. She has been performing to critical acclaim ever since even garnering a Grammy nomination in 2017. Opening act Dead Horses weave together a vibrant patchwork of classic and contemporary influences that span trad roots, indie- folk, and other experimental musical idioms. Rolling Stone lauded the duo’s “smoky vocals [and] cinematic lyrics” and named the band an “Artist You Need to Know.”
Numbskull & Good Medicine are presenting John Craigie’s #KeepItWarm2021 Tour with special guest Chris Pureka, on Saturday November 20th. A Craigie performance is not just a music show, it’s a collective experience. Craigie shines by telling candid stories, humorous anecdotes, and leaving everything on the stage. Fiercely independent, Craigie has prolifically unveiled one highly personal album after another while logging enough miles on the road to give The Grateful Dead a run for their money. Venues got bigger and bigger as audiences clamored for more. You won’t want to miss this incredible concert!
Get ready for loads and loads of laughter on November 26th with the incredibly talented Whose Live Anyway? Performance brought to you by Martin Media. WHOSE LIVE ANYWAY? is 90 minutes of hilarious improvised comedy and song all based on audience suggestions. Current cast members from the Emmy-nominated “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” TV show – Ryan Stiles, Greg Proops, Jeff B. Davis, and Joel Murray – will leave you gasping with the very witty scenes they invent before your eyes. Audience participation is key to the show so bring your suggestions and you might be asked to join the cast onstage! All Ages welcome though this show may include adult humor.
Everybody Can Dance performed the first Nutcracker ballet on the Central Coast in the Santa Maria Town Center Mall in December 1987. It’s certainly come a long way since then! Artistic Director Diane Rose Zink has continued to enhance and embellish her production of Tchaikovsky’s glorious ballet, which has become a rite of passage for generations of dancers, and an annual holiday tradition for the community. Join them on November 27th and 28th to experience this holiday classic on our Clark Center stage! This year marks their 35th anniversary of performing this holiday classic. They are excited to welcome you back to the glory of live performance with new scenes and characters, including a spectacular Russian ribbon dance, all new sets, and a Shooting Star to guide Clara and the Prince on their path to the Land of Sweets.
